Sports for life is running economical football project for the developing countries that is a cost-effective way to run football training activities using existing resources with a minimum nutrition support for changing the poor society at Gorai river Shore poor area in Kushtia, Bangladesh to attain positive youth development in addition to supply skilled footballers for the country football from Jan 2013.
This project helps to realize positive youth development goals like enhancing youths’ desire to continue physical activity for self-determined reasons like enjoying experiences, distinguishing as a physically active person, and seeking health and fitness advantages.
We found that if we can make the youngsters to a sensible fan of football then they will be aiming to listen to each sorts of discussions following by. The target group of this project is especially 7-13 years old poor/deprived girls and boys of Gorai riverside's poor area in Kushtia.
The selection procedure is organized with the aim of involving more than expected range of participants that also reduces the cost of selection. Then parents of the potential footballers are being contacted for motivation & finally inclusion of the player. Principally we offer the poor youngsters with attribute that are extremely desirable that contribute to competency in lifelong physical activities, attaining social and psychological life skills like social skills, resistance skills and improving organic process outcomes like confidence, self-regulation, character, motivation, and perseverance.
The Sandy riverside area is the main training facility and the training equipment are from various natural structures which also reduces the cost of land, building & equipment. Some light snacks are provided to the participators twice a day also sports shoes, boots, shorts, jersey, sports bag, ball, guard, anklet etc. are provided to them for free.
