“Leaders who know their business and care keep a sharp eye out for the shoddy and cheap, for who among us can be trusted to be always diligent and honest?
“Though good advice lies deep within the heart, a person with understanding will draw it out. Many will say they are loyal friends, but who can find one who is truly reliable?
“The Lord has given us eyes to see with and ears to listen with. Don’t be too fond of sleep; you’ll end up in the poorhouse. Wake up and get up; then there’ll be food on the table.
“The buyer haggles over the price, saying, ‘It’s worthless’, then brags about getting a bargain! Wise words are more valuable than much gold and many rubies.
“What you get by dishonesty, you may enjoy like the finest food, but sooner or later it will be like a mouthful of sand.
“Plans succeed through good counsel; don’t go to war without wise advice. The more easily you get your wealth, the less good it will do you.
“Don't take it on yourself to repay a wrong. Trust the Lord and he will make it right. The Lord hates people who use dishonest scales and weights.
“The very steps we take come from God; otherwise how would we know where we’re going?
“Love and truth form a good leader; sound leadership is founded on loving integrity.
“Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways.”
