In the UK, Boris Johnson WON a stunning victory over all other political parties by concentrating on ONE phrase "Get Brexit Done"
There is a lesson here. When promoting on here at IBO, concentrate on ONE thing.
So, I am following his example:
Whether you have to speak before 1,000 people or just a team of your colleagues, it has become increasingly challenging to capture an audience's attention. As you compete with smartphone notifications and digital task lists, the first few seconds of your presentation will determine whether an audience continues listening or walks away. Figuratively or literally...
So how do you get them hooked?
It's vital to perfect your introduction. Typically speaking, a good introduction should accomplish three goals:
1. Get the attention of the audience
2. Clearly identify your subject
3. Tell the audience why this is important to them and if possible, use video
Following this structure will get your audience listening; more important, it will keep them listening. Additionally, it sets the stage to help them remember as much of your message as possible because they can replay your video.
The analogy here is:
- It's in the wording
- Are you sick of living your life in fear of losing your job, your income and your family's security... all because some stupid boss may someday decide he doesn't need you anymore?
You should be aware that Google has changed its algorithm so that it ranks your site according to speed and relevance. Additionally, if pop-ups, like subscription forms, cover ALL of the screen on mobile devices the site will receive a penalty. When you try this on a mobile device, a pop-up should float up from the bottom or remain as a ribbon.
Added to the fact that people may have already subscribed to your list, the software recognises this. You then have the opportunity to present something else, another service or product for example. It is all in the intelligent software installed. Have a look! No harm in having a look eh?
