Why you won''t get lean with your current protein:

#myohealth

Why you won't get lean with your current protein:
.
Many of us workout, exercise, run, lift and take our protein, carefully calculating and cutting carbs where we can, all in the name of getting lean, toned, showing that flat stomach or defined muscle.
.
And. it's. so. hard!
.
But why? Why does it take nearly killing ourselves for it? It just seems like there's something wrong with that. And there is.
.
The reason it's so hard, that it seems like you're still getting carbs even after you cut them out... is because you are. From your protein.
.
"But no! It can't be!" you say. "Protein is my friend, it would never do that to me!"
.
No. no. no. That protein is a dirty liar and it tricked you. It tricked you into thinking that it was fully protein, when really... it was less than 20% protein.
.
That's right: whey, pea, soy and even collagen protein powders are all less than 20% used as protein by the body. And the rest? it's turned into sugar. Carbs. A true wolf in sheep's clothing!
.
So all this time you cut carbs and top off on protein thinking you're, well, cutting carbs and having a lot of protein. And really... there's not much difference. Just a bit more protein and a bit less carbs. But not by much.
.
This is because your body doesn't use protein. It uses amino acids, the building blocks of protein, to make new protein. And any protein you eat is broken down by your body into amino acids. If it's not, your body can't use it.
.
But to make protein from these amino acids your body needs specific ones (the essential amino acids) and it needs them in a specific ratio one to another. And different proteins contain these in different amounts.
.
You probably have heard egg protein is superior to whey protein. And it is. Because a whole egg contains more EAAs in the correct ratios than whey does - 2 1/2 times more to be exact.
.
But even whole eggs are only 48% utilized to build new protein. This means 52% is still converted to sugar (glucose).
.
MyoHealth s pure essential amino acids in a ratio that is 99% utilized. This means 1 serving is equal to 30 grams of whey. But instead of 120 calories - it has only 2.
